Kate Robotham is an award-winning artist who has exhibited across the UK and abroad, including London, Belgium and China.

"These works are light-filled canvases which demonstrate her masterful, painterly talent."

- Art Historian, Critic and Writer Ruth Millington reviewing Kate Robotham's work.

As an artist, my interests lie within the cross-over between nature, colour and painting: conceptually driven by an interest in materiality, and formal and aesthetic qualities.
The imagery I choose to work from is drawn from my every-day experiences of the surrounding landscape – whether that is out in the country-side or at the local park.

My motivation for this is to express the beauty which can be constantly found surrounding us within the mundane of every-day life: it is not what we view, but how we view it that matters.

The work is theoretically concerned with the beauty of nature, and questions how best to express this, aiming not for a mimetic representation of the imagery of nature, but for the expression of an emotive, paint directed response to the landscape.

"The painter goes through the landscape and sees what nobody else has seen because landscape painting comes from inside and not out. It depends entirely on who he is."
