Austrian Mist
This original painting depicts an Austrian mountainscape reflecting in a neighbouring lake.
Bold ink pen and inktense pencil details have been softened by a wash which has bled the pigments, creating an atmospheric piece which captures the wild and serene beauty of the alps, where the boundaries between cloud, mountain and lake blend into an ethereal landscape.
I lived in the French alps for a year and a half, and I loved travelling the surrounding countries, immersing myself in the amazing mountain landscapes and recording my experiences in paint.
