First Touch of Spring

First Touch of Spring

This delicate, Japanese-inspired composition references the sights and sounds of the first signs of spring. Gentle Maya blue and lemon yellow blossoms nestle against pine and fern green undergrowth in this ode to new life.

This original oil painting was inspired by a visit to Leicester Botanical Gardens, where I was captivated by the sense of joy and anticipation held within the changing of the seasons.

This painting can be paired with its sister painting, 'Yellow Blossom'.
